Wedded Bliss: Having fun during your portraits | Metro Detroit Wedding Photographer

Before reading this, just remember: at the end of the day, all that matters is who you are standing beside and the love you have for them.

Now, let's get into it.

Look - you've planned and planned and planned for your wedding day. You've created a timeline. I've edited your timeline and sent it back. We've gone over your family photo line up and we've got it all down pat. When the day of your wedding comes, it typically starts with girl time and mimosas but once you have that dress on, things start to whirlwind around you. Even the most perfectly planned out day can turn overwhelming once you are in a big or tight dress and someone shoves a camera in your face.

Here's the most important advice I can give you: Plan to see your significant other before your ceremony. Set aside an hour or even two between finishing getting ready and the time you have to be at your ceremony site to calm each other's nerves, take bride and groom photos and bridal party photos. It will leave you time afterwards to enjoy your family and friends during your cocktail hour or give you even more time for more photos of you and your beau. I know that there is something magical about seeing your betrothed at the end of the aisle for the first time and you are all dressed up and googly eyed for each other - but if you really want the easiest, most laid back schedule for your day (and you will have a schedule), seeing each other beforehand is the way to go. If you need more convincing, check out this blog post about it

ANYWAY - to the point of this post: I want to show you some of the ways that we can turn your portraits into a blast for your entire wedding party! It's easy and we always get great shots with these super fun prompts.

I could just go on and on forever and ever about how first looks are my favorite way to start your wedding day and how they just make the day so, so nice...BUT. That is a big YOU decision and you are free to ignore me, so I'll shut up about it.

Wave him in the air, like you just don't care! But seriously, it sounds maybe dumb but LOOK AT THOSE GRINS. Boys, man. I'm tellin' ya. They live for this shit.

One of the best ways to boost morale of your bridal party? Let them race for beer. Not even kidding, it's freaking hilarious and so worth a near rip-in-the-pants. Plus, look at how much fun they are having! Isn't that what the day is about?

Also, it's just really fun for me to yell ready-set-go and really funny to watch...so.

Ah, everyone's favorite. Who knew that so many brides out there were just dying to violently shake up a bottle of Brut and spray it all over? Does it help release stress? Is it just fun? We may never know. But it sure does look cool in a photo.

Also, I just gotta love those post-spray chugs of bubbles. Get it, girl!
